I work hard to have white teeth. I’ve used Crest White Strips, I’ve used the little light tray thing (which is a mess), and even drink my coffee and tea through a straw. Not wine, though, I’m not an animal!

And while my teeth are pretty white, try as I might, some just can’t hold the brightness and they dull back to a weird off-white/ light yellow color. Maybe it’s genes?

I’ve seen charcoal teeth whitening everywhere, but thought it was one of those homeopathic, doesn’t really work, one-off trends.

So when my cousin, Sydney, told me she had created a charcoal teeth whitening product I took a deep breath, smiled, and said (as sincerely as I could) “that’s great!” While thinking, that’s not so great…

But I gave it a shot.

I put my toothpaste on my brush, lightly dipped it in the black powder, and waited for an awful taste to accompany the disgusting color.

That taste never came, thankfully.

And while my teeth felt really smooth after brushing, I didn’t see a difference. I reminded myself that these things take time, probably a couple of weeks… if at all.  But Sydney swore by it (and she has really white teeth), so I put my trust in her.

Night 1: No results.

Day 2: No results.

Night 2: No res… wait, what?

Those teeth I had that were a little discolored were suddenly the same color as my other teeth!  In TWO DAYS!

Mighty Mamas, I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I am now a charcoal teeth whitening convert.  Well, maybe not all charcoal teeth whiteners… But definitely a Charcoal Spa Convert!

And remember that smooth feeling I said I felt after brushing?  It’s amazing, like I just got my teeth cleaned at the dentist.  I feel so fresh after!

I Had No Idea

Activated charcoal has been used for decades, and is a well-known solution for removing stains, microscopic particles and toxins and chemicals that get deposited on the teeth surface.
